WORLD POPULATION INCREASE: Calculation and consequences

From prehistory to the 18th century, the world population has been growing slowly and progressively, but some 200 years ago the so-called demographic explosion began with an accelerated growth that continues to this day.

Currently (July 2020) the world population reaches 7,700 million inhabitants and continues to increase by around 200,000 people a day (350,000 births - 150,000 deaths), which means more than 70 million a year.

This increase occurs especially in developing countries, where women have more than 3 children (6 or more in many African countries)
In contrast, in developed countries, where the average of births does not exceed 2 children per woman, populations do not increase or tend to decrease, although some compensate for this with the arrival of emigrants (Europe has a growth rate of less than 1% per year)

.

Population growth is a function of the number of children a woman gives birth to.
And this depends, among others, on factors such as:
- Better education and information (longer school time, more social progress and fewer pregnancies),
- The social, family, work and economic situation of women,
- The traditional customs and culture of the place,
- The existence or not of health services that promote family planning.

Many millions of women, especially in the third world, do not have access to affected contraception systems and although they resort to abortion, this is insufficient to prevent population growth.

To obtain a reduction of the births in the above mentioned regions of high birthrate would be very profitable to dedicate more educational efforts and economic investment with the fín of informing the women (already from the schools, in mass media, etc) about the suitable methods of control (and even to distribute free massive quantities of contraceptive pills); it would avoid million not wished pregnancies and of abortions, as well as also the consequent risks for the health.

Half of the planet's inhabitants are concentrated in large, densely populated urban areas, including those located in / and / around the following cities:

Tokio (Japón) 37.400.000
Delhi (India) 29.400.000
Shangahi (China) 26.300.000

Population growth in cities is 2 times faster than in rural areas.
Life expectancy in many underdeveloped countries (especially in Africa) is below 60 years, while in developed countries it is close to 75 years.
One fifth (1/5) of the world population (about 1.5 billion people) live in industrialized countries (Europe, North America, Japan, etc.)
The other 4/5 parts (more than 5 billion people) live in the rest of the
countries.

The excessive growth of the population, especially in poor countries, has negative evident consequences: mistake of nourishing resources, less available lands of culture, invasion and felling forest and jungles, desertification, shortage of drinkable water and for the irrigation, pollution, sanitary problems, massive emigrations, etc.

Let us hope that effective international measures will be devised to avoid this serious humanitarian problem through better planning and distribution of economic and educational resources that will enable balance and avoid overcrowding disasters.

EL CRECIMIENTO EXPONENCIAL DE LA POBLACIÓN, SI CONTINÚA AL RITMO ACTUAL, NOS CONDUCIRÁ, EN UN PLAZO DE 40-50 AÑOS, AL AGOTAMIENTO DE LOS RECURSOS ENERGÉTICOS PLANETARIOS  (petróleo, gas natural, carbón, uranio, etc) Y CON ELLA, A UNA GRAVE CRISIS INDUSTRIAL, IMPOSIBILITANDO LA PRODUCCIÓN Y DISTRIBUCIÓN DE LOS ALIMENTOS, Y DEMÁS ELEMENTOS (vivienda, trabajo, medicamentos, educación, transporte, ect.) IMPRESCIENDIBLES PARA LA SUBSISTENCIA DE LA MAYORÍA DE LAS PERSONAS QUE HABITAN LA TIERRA.

THE EXPONENTIAL GROWTH OF THE POPULATION, IF IT CONTINUES AT THE CURRENT RATE, WILL LEAD US, WITHIN 40-50 YEARS, TO THE DEPLETION OF PLANETARY ENERGY RESOURCES (oil, natural gas, coal, uranium, etc.) AND WITH IT, AT ONE SERIOUS INDUSTRIAL CRISIS, IMPOSSIBLE THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, AND OTHER ELEMENTS (housing, work, medicines, education, transport, ect.) ESSENTIAL FOR THE LIVELINESS OF THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON EARTH.

SÓLO EL ESTABLECIMIENTO, CUANTO ANTES, DE SISTEMAS EFECTIVOS PARA EL CONTROL DE LA NATALIDAD Y EL DESARROLLO DE ENERGÍAS RENOVABLES (solar, eólica, geotérmica, etc) PUEDE SALVARNOS DE LA PROBABLE CRISIS QUE NOS AMENAZA.

ONLY THE ESTABLISHMENT OF EFFECTIVE SYSTEMS FOR BIRTH CONTROL AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES (solar, wind, geothermal, etc.) CAN ONLY SAVE US FROM THE PROBABLE CRISIS THAT THREATENS US.
