ГОЛОД и БЕДНОСТЬ: Срочная потребность в гуманитарной помощи
FAIM et PAUVRETÉ: Besoin urgent d'assistance humanitaire
1-2 percent of the world's population holds more than 50 percent of wealth and 20 percent of humanity consumes 90 percent of resources, while 80 percent live in conditions of scarcity or poverty.
Almost half of the world's population (about 3,000 million people) survive on less than two dollars a day, and a fifth (more than 1,000 million) live on less than a dollar a day.
According to sources of the World Food Program - WFP = World Food Program - of the UN, still today, hunger is still the biggest problem for the health of people, causing illnesses and deaths in all countries, with alarming figures in several regions of the third world, mainly from Africa, Central Asia and Latin America; The problem especially affects several countries in sub-Saharan Africa where it reaches 25% of the population; Life expectancy in sub-Saharan Africa is 31 years less than in Europe.
In several African countries, AIDS affects 23,000,000 patients (70% of the total) and 1,600,000 deaths annually (20% of children under 15 years of age); In some areas, infection accounts for 60% of the population (7,000 a day). 75% of these patients also suffer from tuberculosis.
12 of the 48 million orphans in sub-Saharan Africa have lost one or both parents due to AIDS.
500,000 women die each year during pregnancy or childbirth, most of them in poor countries due to lack of minimum healthcare.
Each year, 2 to 3 million girls undergo clitoral ablation and genital mutilation. Another 2 million are sold or derived to the prostitution market.
One billion people lack potable water and 2,600 million do not have access to adequate sanitary facilities. More than 4 million people die each year from consuming unsafe water; 40% are children suffering from childhood diarrea.
There are 800 million illiterates (600 million are women since 65% of girls do not receive education)
Some 800/900 million people in the world (1 in 9) suffer from food needs, which causes diseases, suffering and premature deaths. Every year around 20/25 million people die from hunger and poverty; 8/10 million are children; 3 million children under 5 (more than 50% of them die of hunger or malnutrition); Some 66 million are school-age children who attend school with hunger and about 100 million of them weigh less than normal in relation to their age; Many of these also suffer problems in their development / growth.
La pobreza es la principal causa de los 200 millones de emigrantes que hay en el mundo. Éstos generan una riqueza de 1,6 billones de euros contribuyendo al desarrollo del tercer mundo tres veces más que todos programas de ayuda internacional.
Poverty is the main cause of the 200 million emigrants in the world. These generate a wealth of 1.6 billion euros contributing to the development of the third world three times more than all international aid programs.
But even in rich countries there is a proportion of the population living in poverty, due to uncontrolled emigration and the lack of sufficient jobs (in Spain there are currently over 3 million people unemployed)
The main CAUSES of POVERTY and HUNGER in the WORLD and its possible ways of SOLUTION:
The ineffective or corrupt political organizations with despotic governments that monopolize for their benefit the benefits of natural resources (oil, mining, etc.) without making any investment to improve the needs of the population. Much of these riches are illegally taken out and deposited or invested in financial "paradises" of other countries.
The many diseases that affect millions of people
Disasters and natural disasters (drought, bad harvests, pests, earthquakes, etc.)
The backwardness in social, welfare and economic systems (lack of jobs, lack of investment for production, underdevelopment, primitive agriculture and livestock, no industrialization, poor state of communication, buildings and housing, educational and health services minimum or nonexistent, etc
Lack of technology and productive capacity to compete with the prices of the most powerful countries in a global free trade regime. This leads to unequal and unfair competition that generates external debt leading to greater poverty and agricultural crises in which small producers lose their land.
About Malthusian theory that overpopulation depletes resources and leads to poverty, there are data against: half of the world's arable land is not cultivated (with it could feed 18 billion people, triple the the current world population) Despite this, world food production has increased by 25% per person in recent years.
Population density does not always lead to poverty: Europe triples the density of Africa and its wealth is evident.
However, the excessive growth of the population must be slowed down since in the long run it would produce ecological imbalances and negative effects of all kinds.
The solutions to poverty and hunger can only be achieved through a determined global plan of economic development aid, fairer redistribution of surplus riches and food (in some western countries tons of products are destroyed to maintain prices) and above all through the political will of world leaders to end wars and abuses in the exploitation of natural resources by establishing fair trade rules without the unfair competition of rich countries.
The installation of industries, the improvement of the exploitation of agricultural and livestock resources, the increase of handicrafts, the organization of nature tourism networks, etc. could be the gateway to an improvement in life, although this must be accompanied of an effective security policy, more education and health care and an improvement of roads and shelters
A universal tax should be established in favor of poverty and hunger, administered and distributed by the United Nations or solvent international organizations, affecting large bank deposits and large properties, manufacturing and sale of luxury goods, manufacturing, sale and consumption of alcohol and tobacco, luxury tourist trips, large displacement luxury vehicles, luxury hotels, jewelery shops, party halls, brothels, stadiums and sporting events, hunting and sport fishing, bullfights, luxury or multitudinous festive shows, etc. .
THE EXPONENTIAL GROWTH OF THE POPULATION, IF CONTINUED TO THE CURRENT RHYTHM, WILL LEAD US, IN A PERIOD OF 40-50 YEARS, TO THE DEPLETION OF THE PLANETARY ENERGY RESOURCES (oil, natural gas, coal, uranium, etc) AND WITH IT, TO A SERIOUS INDUSTRIAL CRISIS, IMPOSIBILITANDO THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, AND OTHER ELEMENTS (housing, work, medicines, education, transport, ect.) IMPRESCIENDIBLE FOR THE SUBSISTENCE OF MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE EARTH.
SÓLO EL ESTABLECIMIENTO, CUANTO ANTES, DE SISTEMAS EFECTIVOS PARA EL CONTROL DE LA NATALIDAD Y EL DESARROLLO DE ENERGÍAS RENOVABLES (solar, eólica, geotérmica, etc) PUEDE SALVARNOS DE LA PROBABLE CRISIS QUE NOS AMENAZA
HASTA QUE PUEDA MEJORARSE ESTA SITUACIÓN ES MUY NECESARIO Y URGENTE ESTABLECER O INCREMENTAR CORREDORES HUMANITARIOS DE AUXILIO A LAS ZONAS DONDE SE ENCUENTRAN LAS VÍCTIMAS MÁS AFECTADAS.
UNTIL THIS SITUATION CAN BE IMPROVED, IT IS VERY NECESSARY AND URGENT TO ESTABLISH OR INCREASE HUMANITARIAN AUXILIARY CORRIDORS TO THE AREAS WHERE THE MOST AFFECTED VICTIMS ARE LOCATED.
SUCH BROKERS SHOULD BE ORGANIZED, CONTROLLED AND PROTECTED BY MILITARY FORCES OF THE UNITED NATIONS SINCE, OFTEN, HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE CAN NOT ACHIEVE ITS OBJECTIVES DUE TO INSECURITY, BANDING, CORRUPTION AND ARMED CONFLICT.
Recordemos estas cifras vergonzosas que afectan a la población mundial:
